The village of Lindenhurst has a prime location on the southern shore of Long Island in the town of Babylon. Lindenhurst is the fourth largest village in New York State. Lindenhurst’s quaint community features an active nightlife, access to many parks and many special event venues to host concerts and festivals. Shopping is also plentiful in Lindenhurst and avid shoppers will find plenty to browse in the village’s many shops.

Lindenhurst was originally settled as a farming community. Once the Long Island Railroad expanded into the village, growth was rapid. Early settlers dreamt of establishing a haven for German immigrants and named the city Breslau after Breslau, Germany. The community changed its name after World War I to Lindenhurst, but remains strongly tied to its German roots.
